How to Play

30 Seconds is a fast-talking description game. One player describes as many words as possible in 30 seconds — without saying the word itself — while their teammates shout out the answers.

1. Teams take turns. When it's your team's turn, the designated describer sees the card.
2. The describer gets their team to guess as many of the 5 words as possible before time runs out.
3. Each correct guess scores 1 point. Skipped words score nothing.
4. After all rounds, the team with the most points wins.

Setting Up a Game

1. Tap 🏠 Games → ＋ New Game.
2. Choose how many teams (2–4) and give each a name.
3. Select a card deck and number of rounds (3, 5, or 7).
4. Invite friends into the lobby and move them between teams.
5. The host taps ▶ Start Game when everyone is ready.

During a Turn

1. The describer taps ⌛ Flip the Hourglass to start the 30-second timer.
2. Describe each word as fast as possible.
3. Tap ✓ for each word guessed correctly.
4. Tap ✗ to skip a word.
5. When time runs out (or you tap ⏹ End Turn Early), scores update automatically.

Teams & Turn Order

Turns rotate through every team each round. A full round completes once every team has described once. The team with the highest score after all rounds wins. With 4 teams and 5 rounds, that's 20 turns total.

Each round, the next player on the describing team takes a turn — everyone gets to describe equally.

Card Decks

Tap 🃏 Decks to browse, create, and share card decks.

• system — built-in, available to everyone.
• owner — created by you, only you can edit.
• shared — shared with you by a friend, read-only.

To build a deck: tap ＋ New Deck, give it a name, and add cards. Each card has 5 words. Tap Share to share a deck with any accepted friend.

Friends

1. Tap 👥 Friends → search by username → tap Add.
2. Your friend accepts and you're connected.
3. In a game lobby, tap Invite next to a friend's name.

Landscape Mode

Rotate your phone during a game for a split-screen view: the scoreboard stays pinned on the left while the active card and timer fill the right — great for the describer.

Installing the App

30 Seconds is a PWA — install it to your home screen for a native app experience.

• Android (Chrome): tap the browser menu → Add to Home Screen, or use the install banner on the sign-in screen.
• iOS (Safari): tap the Share icon → Add to Home Screen.
